Wozupi Tribal Gardens produced:
Over 1,000 boxes of produce and eggs and were delivered to Community Member households.
~430 pounds of pickled cucumbers were made available to Community Member households.
In summer of 2025,
Hydronics officially opened at full capacity in the summer of 2025 increasing energy efficiency in heating and cooling.
Dakota Prairie Composting officially opened at full capacity in the summer of 2025. This recent expansion of development and operation is known for being the largest commercial composting site in the Midwest.
In 2025,
The SMSC donated over 2,000 items to organizations that help families in need.
#SMSCgives, the SMSC's outreach program, offers ways to be a good neighbor and give back to the community. Often times this includes donating various items to be reused.
Volunteers through #SMSCgives participated in events such as fleece blankets and card making, pet supply drive, public food distributions, backpack distributions, SMSC toy drive, and more.
The SMSC sent 1,478 tons Prairie Composting, diverting a robust amount of waste from landfills.
In 2026,
The SMSC added two more electric vehicles to its fleet making strides towards an electrified fleet.
By investing in more energy efficient appliances and technologies, the SMSC has decreased electricity usage at the SMSC. In turn, we have lessened our reliance on renewable energy credits by 27%.
